Arch of Neutrality |
The 75m Arch of Neutrality, also called the Tower of Power, was built to commemorate the UN Resolution approving Turkmenistan's status of permanent neutrality. The Earthquake Monument was completed in 1998 in memory of those killed in the 1948 earthquake - among the thousands killed was Niyazov's mother who is featured holding her son on top of the statue. The picture on the bottom right shows Ruhyyet Palace with the blue domes and the Presidential Palace with the gold dome. |
