Sankaber

This was our first camp site.  Sankaber is situated 3,250m above sea level and was the beginning of our stunning two-day trek across the Simien Mountains. We had the assistance of mules for quite a bit of it although we did have to walk up and down the steeper bits.  The truly fit walked all the way but, given the altitude, most of us rode the mules whenever we could.
