Gongora

Gongora was a great little side trip from Gonder.  Situated on the northern shores of Lake Tana, the Monastery of Debre Sina Maryam (pictured) is one of the last thatched churches left in Ethiopia and was probably built in the 16th century although parts may have been lifted from an earlier building.
